Most likely your go-to app for live streams and posting images is Snapchat. However, social media giant Facebook is looking to change that.
A report from The Wall Street Journal says, Facebook currently has a standalone camera app in development. While much of the project is still under wraps, intended features include a camera that uploads photos directly to Facebook as well as video software that allows you to seamlessly live stream on the social network; much like Snapchat.
Why the move into an incredibly competitive market? Facebook has had an ever-increasing issue with users posting less on the site than they did in the past, and the hope is that with this new camera app, people will feel more inclined to share their photos and videos.
No one knows how far along the app’s development is or when it’ll be released, but stay tuned.
