Two weeks ago, October’s very own Drake’s ‘One Dance’ landed on the Billboard Hot 100. In just two weeks, Drake made his way to the #2 position, with Desiigner’s Panda still topping the chart. There were a lot of uncertainty whether Panda could hold the #1 spot much longer. After two weeks of reigning supreme, Desiigner slipped from #1 to #2; earning Drake his first #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100. The rapper sold 1.2M album copies in only the first week. The tracks featured on Views received a collective 245.1 million streams in the past week, which is not just a new record, it is far and away the best of all time. In fact, Drake’s 245 million song plays is more than twice the previous best. Before Views came along, the greatest number of streams in a single week was set last week, when Beyoncé’s Lemonade received 115.5 million plays, which helped it debut at number one, as well. Beyoncé’s Lemonade is now moved to #2 on the Hot 200 chart, only to be replaced by Views at #1.
